COMPASS AGREEMENT
REACHED
The
Union
has reached an agreement with Compass to settle the 5 month
strike by retail food servers at nine hospitals in the Fraser
Health Authority.
The
membership voted 64% in favor of the new agreement which will
bring the members to parity with other similar workers by the
end of the agreement.
Upon ratification, the members will see a $0.89 per hour
increase with an additional $0.90 per hour on Sept 30, 2010,
$1.00 per hour increase on Sept 30, 2011, and $0.75 per hour
increase in Sept 2012.
Full-time
employees will receive a signing bonus of $800.00 and $200.00
for part-time, casual and new employees.
Benefits
will increase from 70% to 100% employer paid with an
additional increase to eye glass coverage which will now
incorporates family members.

After
five months on strike, our members have held strong and
achieved significant improvements to the employers last offer
prior to job action beginning.
